One of the most interesting plants from a health point of view is Gynura Procumbens, a member of the aster plant family. Originating from the African continent many centuries ago, it found its way to China and Southeast Asia where it was used as a health supporting plant, as well as a food.

Gynura has a few different names expressing it's character: Longevity Spinach, Cholesterol Spinach, Leaves of God. In Japan it called Okinawan Spinach.
